Regulations on Attendance of International Students
International students’ attendance is taken for all class sessions, examinations & other forms of activities that take place, & recorded by their course teachers & the administrator in the International Office. Course teachers will record students’ attendance on regular basis & report to the International Office every week. If a student has been missing classes for consecutive days without acknowledgement, the university has the right to cancel his study & report to the police station.
All international students are expected to attend class on time unless they have avalid reason for being absent. Students must seek approval from the International Office & follow the instructions below to apply for an excused absence:
1. Personal Reasons: Students who will be absent for one day or lesser will need to obtain approval for their excused absences from their course teacher & inform the International Office.Students who will be absent for 1-3 days (including 3 days), after obtaining prior approval from the course teacher, will need to fill out & submit the “Excused Absence Form” in person to the International Office. The “Excused Absence Form” must be signed by the administrator. Students who will be absent for more than 3 days, after obtaining prior approval from the course teacher, will need to fill out & submit the “Excused Absence Form” in person to the International Office. The “Excused Absence Form” must be approved by the Director of the International Office. For those leaves that exceed one week, the International Office will report them to the local police station for their records. Students must report their return from leave timely. Those who can’t must extend their leave for absence.
2. Illness: Students must obtain a doctor’s note to justif that illness was the cause of their absence. Students’ application for sick leave will only be considered as valid with the approval of the International Office.
3. Please keep in mind that students’ absences that have not been approved/acknowledge by the International Office will be recorded as unexcused absences in their attendance record. Students who have missed two weeks of classes will receive a written warning. Those who have accumulated over one month of unexcused absences will be asked to withdraw from the university & have their residence permits cancelled by the Exit-Entry Administration Department.
