The Acting Mayor of Port Villa, Vanuatu and his Delegation Visited FOSU
On October 20, a delegation from Port Villa, the Republic of Vanuatu visited Xian’xi Campus. The delegates included Mr. Ben Tabi, the Acting Mayor, Mr. Sakai Amos Kaven, the Director of Urban Facilities Bureau and Mr. Harry Graciano Jimina, the Asset Management Officer. Professor Shaoming Luo, the University General Secretary of the Party Committee, warmly received the guests.
At the meeting, Shaoming Luo extended his warm welcome to Mr. Ben Tapi and his delegation, communicating cordially with each other on such issues as cultural exchanges and agricultural technology cooperation under the initiative of “Belt and Road.” Learning details of FOSU development, the guests conveyed strong willingness to have partnership with each other. Both reached a consensus that specific bilateral projects should be carried out as soon as possible, which is significant for furthering Friendship City Cooperation between Foshan and Port Vila.
After the discussion, accompanied by Directors from the International Office of FOSU and the Foreign Affairs Bureau of Foshan Municipal Government, the guests visited Guangdong Modern Agriculture (Tropical Sweet Corn) Industry Technology Research and Development Centre of Guangdong Province, where they tasted the fresh sweet corn in the experiment field.
Port Villa, the economic and cultural as well as shipping centre of the Republic of Vanuatu, is an international friend city of Foshan.
