Zeng Zheng led a team to Macao to attend the unveiling ceremony of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Intelligent Micro-Nano Optoelectronic Technology Joint Laboratory, and visited the school board members of Macao and Zhuhai

 

From January 31 to February 2, Zeng Zheng,Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the University Board, led the heads of the United Front Work Department of the Party Committee, theSecretariat of the University Board, Alumni Office, International Office, School of Physics and Optoelectronic Engineering, School of Mathematics and Big Data, to Macao and Zhuhai to attend the unveiling ceremony of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Intelligent Micro-Nano Optoelectronic Technology Joint Laboratory held in Macao University of Science and Technology (MUST), and paid a visit to the board members.

 

On the morning of February 1, the opening ceremony of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Intelligent Micro-Nano Optoelectronic Technology Joint Laboratory was held in MUST. At the forum, Zeng Zheng introduced the basic situation and historical evolution of Foshan University (FOSU) to Pang Chuan, vice president of MUST, Zhang Du, Dean of the School of Information Technology, Liang Yong, Director of the Science and Technology Department, and pointed out that since the construction of the high-level university of science and technology, great progress has been made in teaching, scientific research, etc., and the ranking of FOSU has improved significantly. He said that the school’s concern and guidance from leaders at all levels of the central government, provinces and cities in the process of development is a full affirmation of the school’s courage to reform, active investment and achievements in construction. The joint laboratory is jointly built by FOSU and MUST after years of cultivation. It has been approved by the Department of Science and Technology of Guangdong Province. It is an important achievement of the two universities in implementing the development planning outline of Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao Bay Area. It is hoped that the experts and scholars of the two universities can make accurate docking, continue to carry out in-depth cooperation in discipline construction, student training, scientific research and other aspects, promote the integration of resources of the two universities, and actively expand the new mode of education cooperation in Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao. Vice President Pang Chuan welcomed Secretary Zeng Zheng and his party. He focused on the rapid development of teaching and scientific research in recent years. He agreed that further exchanges and cooperation would have a good and far-reaching impact on the development of the two universities. The establishment of the joint laboratory has played a good demonstration role in the cooperation between universities in Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao. He also said that he would fully support the two universities in the project application, personnel training, scientific research platform, etc. After the forum, the heads of relevant departments and academic teams of both sides also had in-depth communication and exchange.

 

On the morning of January 31, Zeng Zheng and his party visited Luo Shengzong, chairman of Macao Excelente Group, Liu Benli, President of Macao Economic Society, and Tang Jizong, President of Macao Institute of Management. They discussed the direction of cooperation between all parties extensively, and sincerely invited Luo Shengzong to join the University Board to support and guide the development of the University.

In the afternoon of that day, Zeng Zheng and his party paid a special visit to the Macao Fok Ying Tung foundation, where Mr. FOK Chen Huan is the president. They introduced the construction of “Ying Tung Pavilion” and “Ying Tung wind chime garden” in Xianxi campus to Mr. Shi Hao, the Secretary General of the foundation. They expressed their gratitude to the foundation for its strong support for the construction of campus culture, and invited Mr. Shi Hao to organize friends of the foundation to visit the campus and feel the beautiful campus scenery.

 

During his visit to Macao, under the arrangement of the Alumni Association, Zeng Zheng and his party also met with Mr. Xie Weiwen, an alumnus in Macao, to learn about the work of alumni in Macao and the general situation of secondary schools in Macao, so as to make clear the direction to formulate the enrollment strategy of Macao.

 

In addition, the school delegation also visited Mr. Lu Deji, the president of Macao Derong Garment Factory Co., Ltd., Mr. Lu Daoping, the chairman of Derong Garment Factory Co., Ltd. and his family, Mr. Mei Xianhui, Mr. Lu bingda and Mr. Huang Liren. They brought the New Year’s blessing to the university board members in advance and wish them providing suatainable supports for FOSU.

 

On February 1, the “Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Intelligent Micro-Nano Optoelectronic Technology Joint Laboratory” jointly built by Foshan University and Macao University of Science and Technology was officially opened in Macao. Zeng Zheng, Chair of the Party Committee of Foshan University, attended the opening ceremony in Macao.
